How to write Suno prompts that give a clear musical direction

A six-part structure

1. Genre and intent.Name one main family and the role of the track.
2. Tempo and feel.State the BPM or perceived pulse, plus straight, swung or half-time feel.
3. Drums.Describe the kick, snare, hats, pattern density and pocket.
4. Low end.Say whether the bass sustains, pulses, slides or answers selected kicks.
5. Source material.Choose the motif, sample family, instrument or texture carrying the identity.
6. Space and finish.Define width, depth, dirt, saturation and how ambience behaves.

The useful order

This is a structure, not a copy-ready prompt. Its purpose is to stop important information from disappearing inside a long paragraph of adjectives.

Keep one core; vary the approach

To create several beats within one genre, keep its identity fixed and move selected axes. One version can change the drum pocket, another the bass behaviour and another the source material. If every axis changes at once, the collection stops feeling coherent.

That is how the SUBSUELO folders are organised: 30 complete, independent directions inside one defined sound, rather than 30 fragments that need to be combined.

What weakens a prompt

• Listing several unrelated genres and expecting all of them to remain equally present.
• Using only mood adjectives without describing rhythm or low end.
• Asking for contradictory finishes, such as completely dry and extremely reverberant at once.
• Specifying every second of the arrangement when the real goal is a reusable sound direction.
• Adding exclusions to the main prompt when a separate exclusion field exists.

In our folders, the text prepared for copying is in English in both editions. The explanation PDF is supplied separately in Spanish and English, so each buyer can understand what to paste and where without mixing languages inside the working prompt.
