GUIDE_14 / SUNO METAL

Suno metal prompts for symphonic metal, doom and gothic metal without trailer scoring

Symphonic metal does not mean placing a huge orchestra on top of any riff. The band has to retain the centre, and every orchestral layer needs a job.

Fix the band first

Begin with rhythmic movement: a 4/4 march, doom half-time or controlled double kick. Then describe riff, bass and drums. When strings arrive before the band, the generation tends to prioritise a score rather than metal.

A clear foundation can read weighty 4/4 march, controlled double-kick support, deep snare, distorted bass doubling a descending guitar riff. Tempo feel, groove and low-end relationship are already fixed.

Give strings and choir a function

Name register and role: cellos and violas can reinforce a low riff; a mixed choir can sustain chorus harmony; brass can colour one selected attack. Epic orchestra decides none of those things.

The protective phrase is orchestral layers placed behind the band. It keeps guitars and transients forward. For doom, reduce density; for gothic metal, give the choir more space and brass less.

A compact Styles block

Example: dark symphonic metal, 132 BPM, weighty 4/4 march, controlled double kick, deep snare, distorted bass, descending low-guitar riff, cellos and violas reinforce the riff, restrained brass colour, mixed choir sustains harmony, riff-led verse, wider chorus, articulate guitars, real drum transients, orchestra behind the band.

Paste it in full into Styles and generate two versions. To explore symphonic doom, change only BPM, drum density and riff length. For gothic metal, change the relationship between choir, clean guitars and space.

Avoiding trailer music, power metal and generic orchestra

The common leaks are heroic fanfares, cinematic booms, spoken narration, power-metal speed and a choir that replaces the riff. The fix combines positive construction with Exclude.

A direct list is heroic brass fanfares, cinematic booms, spoken narration, constant blast beats, power-metal speed, glossy pop production. Use it when those elements appear; the main prompt still describes what should play.
